CAAC leaders met with representatives from Hong Kong and Macao attending the 2024 Asia-Pacific Aviation Safety Symposium

On August 12, Song Zhiyong, Director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, met with representatives from Hong Kong and Macao who attended the 2024 Asia-Pacific Aviation Safety Symposium in Beijing, including Liao Zhiyong, Director of the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, Pan Huajian, Director of the Macau Civil Aviation Authority, and Wen Jiaqi, Chief Accident and Safety Investigator of the Hong Kong Civil Accident Investigation Organization.

 

Song Zhiyong fully affirmed the exchanges and cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao in the field of aviation safety. He said that China's civil aviation is earnestly studying the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and studying and promoting the deepening of civil aviation reform. He hopes that the civil aviation industry in Hong Kong and Macao will actively integrate into the new round of reform and opening up in the country, give play to the institutional advantages of "one country, two systems", strengthen the connection of rules and mechanisms, deepen integrated development, and contribute to the high-quality development of China's civil aviation.

 

On the same day, Hu Zhenjiang, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, held work exchanges with representatives from Hong Kong and Macao, and exchanged in-depth views on promoting the establishment of a closer cooperation mechanism between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao in the field of aviation safety. Relevant departments of the Civil Aviation Administration participated in the meeting and discussion.
